It’s challenging to be an entrepreneur in country as Bulgaria. The start up community is no big. There’s only one IT VC fund and it’s not even collecting projects at the moment. But there are lots of people that want to start something.
Being part of that small community we felt we have learned some lessons and felt an urge to share with our fellow entrepreneurs. We called our presentation From the Idea to the investment – StockPodium’s story and shared some exciting moments as start-up company.
Speaking in front of 400 people is great experience. We felt we the audience was really getting the message – it’s always better to stay focused on your product and execute as there are always other important things to do – look for possible investors, apply for business competitions, attend events, get to know the “important” people…
We’ve shared our hearts and lots of questions followed. Lost of people are not familiar with the micro-stock concept so we had to explain why there’s great opportunity for StockPodium even if there are services like google images.
Whenever we present, people get excited about the technology behind StockPodium. Everyone has it’s own perceptions what visual similarity is – some think the most interesting use is to be able to find picture of people – friends, celebrities or pictures of landmarks, food. Visual similarity can to alot. Your imagination is the limit. But we always state technology have to be applied in order to help people solve real problems.
